Comte De St. Germain
Curious observer of all Nature, I have known the principle and the end of the great whole.
I have seen gold's power at the bottom of its river, grasped matter, and discovered its ferment.
I explained by what art the soul, in the flames of a mother, builds a house, carries it, and how a seed, mingling with dust beneath moist soil, becomes a plant, a vine, and thus bread and wine.
Nothing existed; God willed it, and nothing became something. I doubted, I searched for what sustains the universe; nothing held the balance and served as support.
Finally, I weighed the eternal with weight, logic, and balm; it called to my soul. I died, I adored, and I knew nothing more.
